Renowned West Indies cricket writer and commentator Tony Cozier died. He was 75.
Cozier covered almost every West Indies series since 1962, and is one of the most respected cricket writer, broadcaster and historian to have come out of the Caribbean.
2.Aravindh and Uurtsaikh Asian Junior Chess Championships
Grandmaster Aravindh Chithambaram of India and Uurinntuya Uurtsaikh of Mongolia became Champions in the Asian Junior Open and Girls Championship respectively.
In the Asian Junior Blitz Championship, S L Naryanan won the gold medal while ArjunKalyan and Aravindh Chithambaram secured Silver and Bronze medals respectively. R Vaishali secured the yellow metal in girl's category while Varshini finished second and BalaKannamma won the Bronze medal.
3. Kanakia Spaces ropes in Zinedine Zidane as brand ambassador for BKC project Kanakia Paris
Realty developer Kanakia Spaces has roped in French football legend and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as a brand ambassador for its project Kanakia Paris in Mumbai's business district in Bandra-Kurla Complex. This is for the first time an international sportsman is being hired as an ambassador of any real estate project in the country.

Long-serving England women’s captain Charlotte Edwards announced her retirement from International cricket.
Charlotte Edwards was named ICC's Women's Player of the Year and was selected as Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2014.
5. UP government approves bicycle highway between Taj and lion safari
The Uttar Pradesh government gave its nod to develop nearly 200-km long bicycle highway from Agra to the lion safari in Etawah. The plan aims at encouraging eco-tourism in the vicinity of the Taj Mahal.

7. Shashank Manohar elected unopposed as independent ICC chairman
Manohar is a prominent Indian lawyer who served his first stint as the BCCI President from 2008-2011. Following the passing of JagmohanDalmiya, Manohar was re-elected as the BCCI President in October 2015 and, by virtue of that position, has held the role of ICC Chairman since then.

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup of Rock Climbing will be hosted by Navi Mumbai from May 13 to 16 at the CIDCO Exhibition Center, in Vashi.

President Pranab Mukherjee presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards to nursing personnel at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of International Nurses Day.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards are given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals in the country.
The International Nurses Day is celebrated all over the world on May 12 every year to commemorate Florence Nightingale's birthday.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Chief Uday Kotak, who has a net worth of about $7.1 billion, is the sole Indian in Forbes' list of 40 of the most powerful people in the financial world who control the flow of trillions of dollars around the global economy.
57-year-old Kotak is ranked 33rd in the Forbes list of 'Money Masters: The Most Powerful People in the Financial World' topped by Blackstone Group's CEO Stephen Schwarzman, who has a net worth of $10.2 billion and oversees assets worth $344 billion.
11. Rahman joins Olympic Goodwill Ambassadors' list
Oscar winning music composer A R Rahman agreed to be the Goodwill Ambassador of the Indian Olympic contingent, joining cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, ace shooter Abhinav Bindra and Bollywood star Salman Khan.
