1. Raipur gets country’s tallest tricolour
India's largest tricolour was hoisted on the tallest flagpost, 82m high, in the state capital. Unfurled by chief minister Raman Singh at Telibandha lake, the flag with shaft of 105X70 ft beat the Ranchi record.
2. Czech Safarova wins Prague Open

the Prague Open, beating Australian Samantha Stosur 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the
final.
3. PM launches Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana at Ballia. The scheme aims to provide cooking gas connections to five crore below-poverty-line beneficiaries over the next three years.
4. India win one silver, two bronze in Archery World Cup
Indian women's team settled for the silver after losing to Chinese Taipei in the final, while men's trio and mixed pair won their respective bronze playoffs in the first stage of Archery World Cup at the Yuanshen Stadium.
Women's team comprising Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi put up an inconsistent show that included an abysmal five in the crucial third set, to lose to the lower-ranked Chinese Taipei 2-6 in the recurve team final.
Later, the third seeded Indian men's recurve team of Atanu Das, Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia brought smiles back to the Indian camp, hammering ninth seed British team 6-0 to bag the bronze medal.
