1. Himachal extends Japan-funded crop diversification project
Himachal Pradesh and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a pact for the second phase of crop diversification.
An MOU was signed here between state Agriculture Secretary Anuradha Thakur and funding agency JICA's Chief Representative Takema Sakamoto.
2. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos Became the World’s Third-Richest Person
Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos became the third-richest person in the world. According to the list of billionaires released by Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos surpassed Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett for the first time to become the third richest person of the world.
3. Virat Kohli hits maiden double century in Antigua; first in any format and at any level
Virat Kohli added another record against his name as he hit his maiden double hundred, in any format and at any level. Before this knock, Kohli was yet to score a 200, even at the first class level.
Prior to this, Kohli’s top score first class had been 197 against Pakistan based Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) in the Nissar Trophy – a tournament played for three seasons between India and Pakistan domestic winners. That match in 2008 had the likes of Aakash Chopra, Virendra Sehwag, Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma playing for the Delhi team. The SNGPL side, on the other hand, had familiar names in Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal and Misbah-Ul-Haq.
When Kohli crossed the 150-run barrier with a boundary, he became the highest scoring Indian captain in West Indies going past the previous mark of Rahul Dravid.
4. India makes first contribution to UN Trust Fund
India, one of the largest troop-contributing countries in UN peacekeeping operations, has contributed $100,000 to a trust fund set up for victims of sexual exploitation and abuse by peacekeepers, becoming the first country to make a contribution to the fund.
The United Nations Department of Field Support (DFS) announced that India provided $100,000 for the Trust Fund in support of victims of sexual exploitation and abuse.
This is the first contribution to the Trust Fund the Secretariat has received, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon's deputy spokesman Farhan Haq told reporters.
India has historically been one of the largest troop-contributing countries in peacekeeping operations and is currently ranked as the second largest contributor of military and police personnel.

Modern Indian artist S H Raza died. He was 94.
An internationally-acclaimed painter, Raza was honoured with the Padma Shri. He was elected as fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1983.
