1. Delhi 22nd in Top 25 global cities for women entrepreneurs
Delhi, at the 22nd spot, is the only Indian city to feature in tech giant Dells 2016 Women Entrepreneur Cities Index (WE Cities) that looks at a city’s ability to attract and foster growth of women-owned firms.
New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, London, Stockholm and Singapore were the top five cities for high-potential women entrepreneurs, Dell said in a statement.
Cities, instead of countries, were identified in order to show the impact of local policies and programs in addition to national laws and customs, it said.
The report takes into account characteristics like capital, technology, talent, culture and markets.
Other cities in the list include Toronto, Washington DC, Sydney, Paris, Seattle, Munich, Tokyo, Sao Paulo and Milan.
Johannesburg, Jakarta and Istanbul were the only cities that ranked below Delhi in the top 25 list.
2. World Bank, ICA join hand to resolve project disputes in India
The World Bank announced a partnership with Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) to aid dispute resolution, if any, for speedier disposal of infrastructure projects in India.
ICA is an allied body of industry chamber Ficci and the partnership with World Bank aims to bring about improvements in Dispute Boards (DB) to make them more popular and acceptable in India.
3. Anil Kumble named Team India head coach
Anil Kumble, the former India Test captain and the country's most successful bowler, has been named as the coach of the men's cricket team, with his one-year tenure to begin with India's four-Test tour of the West Indies in July. The announcement was made in Dharamsala, where the BCCI is holding its first annual cricket conclave, with board president Anurag Thakur and its secretary Ajay Shirke naming Kumble in a press conference.

India has slipped one place to 12th spot in terms of millionaire population. However, numbers of these millionaire have grown marginally to 2 lakh. Last year, India was ranked 11th with 1.98 lakh such high networth individuals (HNWIs), according to a report by Capgemini.
India along with China is seen as engine of growth by the global wealth managers.
The report said 13 per cent of the global wealth managers feel that India has the biggest area of high net worth individual wealth expansion through 2025, while the same is 27 per cent for China.
The global wealth is projected to reach $ 100 trillion by 2025.
6. Chinese scientist wins global meteorological award
A Chinese scientist has won the International Meteorological Organisation Prize, the world's top prize for meteorological work bestowed by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
Zeng Qingcun, a Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) member, won the ward for contributions to satellite meteorological remote-sensing theory, numerical weather prediction theory, meteorological disaster prevention, as well as the earth system model, Xinhua news agency reported CAS as saying.
The International Meteorological Organisation Prize is awarded annually to scientists that have made outstanding contributions to meteorology, hydrology and geophysical sciences.
7. Social entrepreneur Zubaida Bai bags UN honour for corporate sustainability initiative
An Indian social entrepreneur has been named among 10 "champions and pioneers" by UN Chief Ban Ki-moon under the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative that calls on companies to align with universal principles of human rights, environment and anti-corruption.
Zubaida Bai, the founder of 'ayzh', a for-profit social venture providing health and livelihood solutions to impoverished women worldwide, was named among the 10 '2016 Global Compact SDG Pioneers', an initiative launched by UN to search for "entrepreneurs" who can play a pivotal role.
The UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, supports companies to do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with ten principles of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption; and to take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.
8. UK PM David Cameron says will step down by October after Brexit vote
David Cameron said he would resign as Prime Minister by October after Britons ignored his pleas to stay in the European Union and voted in a referendum to leave.
Cameron, who choked back tears, gave no detailed timetable but said there should be a new leader by the time his Conservative Party holds its annual conference in October.
