1. Indian-origin lawyer appointed Shadow Attorney General in UK
A 47-year-old Indian-origin human rights lawyer has been appointed the Shadow Attorney General by UKs Opposition Labour party which will see her holding the government's chief legal advisor to account for their actions.
Shami Chakrabarti, who recently became a Labour member of the House of Lords and also chaired the party’s anti-Semitism inquiry, was confirmed in the new role in a reshuffle of his top team by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
2. China will be the only country to have space station by 2024
China will be the only country to have a space station in service in 2024 as the International Space Station currently in service would retire by then, a Chinese space official said.
When the International Space Station retires in 2024, China's space station may be the only one left in service,Lei Fanpei, chairman of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. (CASC) said.
China recently successfully launched a second experimental space lab. Two astronauts were expected to join the lab later this month for month long stay and experiments. The main lab was expected to be ready by 2022.
China plans to launch the experimental core module of its space station around 2018 with a Long March-5 heavy load carrier rocket, and the 20 tonne combination space station will be sent into orbit around 2022, Lei was quoted as saying by state-run Xinhua news agency.
China's space station will include a core module and two lab modules, with ports that will allow multiple spacecraft to dock, Lei said.
3. Andhra signs pacts with Chinese firms for $1.5 billion investment
The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) signed an agreement with three China-based entities for development of minerals and industrial park in the state entailing investment of about $ 1.5 billion.
4. 8th October : Indian Air Force Day
The Air Force Day was officially started celebrating at 8th of October in the year 1932 as an auxiliary air force of Indian Empire.
It was started celebrating in order to increase the awareness about the importance of Indian air force in any organization of the national security by both officially and publicly
The India Air Force has been engaged in the four wars with the Pakistan and one with People’s Republic of China after its independence. The operations carried out by it are Operation Meghdoot, Operation Vijay – the invasion of Goa, Operation Cactus and Operation Poomalai. It has also been involved in the United Nations peacekeeping missions. The President of the country serves to the India Air Force as a Commander-in-Chief.
