1. Ministry of AYUSH and US Pharmacopeial Convention partner to strengthen quality of traditional medicine 



The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy under the Ministry of AYUSH and the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in New Delhi for cooperation in the field of Traditional medicine and to collaborate in the identification, development, and dissemination of science-based standards in this field at an international level.

2. President inaugurates Food Park in Jangipur 




President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a Mega Food Park at Jangipur in Murshidabad, aimed at providing critical food processing infrastructure to the farmers of this backward belt in West Bengal.

The new food park will minimise the wastage of food products, Mukherjee said after inaugurating the Food Park in the presence of West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and union and state ministers.

3. Govt gives nod to signing of pact with Myanmar on traditional 




The Government gave its nod to signing of a pact between India and Myanmar in the field of traditional system of medicines. The pact aims to provide a structured frame work for cooperation between both the countries and for promotion of AYUSH and traditional systems of medicine in Myanmar.

4. Deepika becomes brand ambassador of Indian Psychiatric Society 




Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who herself battled depression, has joined hands with the Indian Psychiatric Society as its brand ambassador to spread awareness about mental health and help reduce the stigma associated with its ailments.

5. South India's first Children’s Court inaugurated in Hyderabad 




Giving a push to fast disposal of cases related to children, south India’s first Children’s Court was inaugurated.

After Goa and Delhi, Telangana has become the third state to have a child friendly court and sixth in the country with features like separate waiting rooms for children and a video camera trial for the accused, mandated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act-2012.

The child friendly courtroom was jointly inaugurated at the Nampally Criminal Courts Complex here by Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad and Director General of Telangana Police Anurag Sharma.

POCSO stipulates child-friendly court rooms be put in place across all states at the earliest in the interest of children in need of care. However, such courts are currently functional only in two states - Delhi and Goa.

6. YES BANK appoints Amit Sanan as Group President & Country Head, Mid-Corporate Banking 




The country's fifth largest private sector bank YES Bank has appointed Amit Sanan as Group President & Country Head for Mid-Corporate Banking.

7. India's GDP to expand by 7.9% this financial year: Goldman Sachs 




Indian economy is expected to clock 7.9 per cent growth in the current fiscal driven by better monsoon, government pay hike, key reforms and FDI inflows, Goldman Sachs said.

The global financial services major said the GDP is expected to improve gradually and for the April-June quarter it may slow a tad to 7.8 per cent, in part due to unfavorable base. It had grown at 7.9 per cent in the previous quarter.
