1. Joint Venture Agreement signed between Ministry of Railways and Government of Chhattisgarh
Ministry of Railways and Government of Chhattisgarh signed a Joint Venture Agreement for 'Formation of Joint Venture Companies'.
2. Nita Ambani nominated for International Olympic Committee
Nita Ambani, founder-chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has been nominated as an independent candidate to be a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) based out of Lausanne in Switzerland.
As per the new selection process, Ambani, when elected, will continue to serve as a member of the IOC until she reaches 70 years of age.
IOC President Thomas Bach, announcing the eight candidates at a press conference in Lausanne, said: "This is a very outstanding group of personalities that are experts in their respective fields."
The list also includes Anant Singh of South Africa, a film producer who was raised in the country's apartheid era and wrote a book on late President Nelson Mandela - "Long Walk to Freedom".
Among Indians, Ambani will be the first woman and the third individual to become a member of the IOC after the late Sir Dorabji Tata and Raja Randhir Singh, who is currently an honorary member of the IOC.
3. Tata Trusts, Gilead sign MoU on viral hepatitis in India
Tata Trusts signed an agreement with Gilead Sciences to explore collaboration to tackle the viral hepatitis in the country.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Tata Trusts and Gilead will form a joint program committee to implement activities related to prevention, awareness and education, testing and treatment of viral hepatitis.
The US-headquartered Gilead is a biopharmaceutical company.
4. IBM unveils MobileFirst for iOS Garage in India
BM unveiled a new enterprise mobility platform IBM MobileFirst for iOS Garage in India and plans to open satellite centres in many other countries including Brazil, China and Romania.
IBM MobileFirst is a platform for building mobile apps for the enterprise.
The Garage is dedicated to enable clients to complete digital mobility projects as quickly as possible and will tap into the world’s largest concentration of Swift developers, IBM design and iOS device expertise and consulting services, Mahmoud Naghshineh, GM, Apple partnership,IBM, told reporters.
IBM also plans to open satellite centres in Brazil, Romania and many other countries, Naghshineh said, adding the company has already started the work in this regard in China.
"We already have started in China. For sure, we want to be close to our clients in Latin America. In Europe, we already have many clients and want to build garage capability there. You definitely want to see us covering the world map," he said.
IBM also announced Mobile at Scale for iOS, a new offering specifically for clients looking to invest in digital transformation projects that include more than three iOS apps over a multi-year period.
IBM partnered with Apple in July 2014 to transform enterprise mobility through a new class of made for business apps, bringing IBMs big data and analytics capabilities to Apple devices in the enterprise, Naghshineh said.
Till date, IBM has developed over 100 apps across 15 industries and delivered nearly 2,000 client engagements, he added.

Government notified 4 percent inflation target with a range of plus/minus 2 percent for the next five years under the monetary policy framework agreement with the Reserve Bank.
