1. Priyanka Chopra among World's highest paid TV actresses



Priyanka Chopra has become the first Indian star to enter the Forbes list of highest paid television actresses in the world, after starring on American series "Quantico".

Priyanka ranks eighth in the coveted list, which has retained American actress Sofia Vergara at the first position fifth year in a row.

Vergara has an impressive array of endorsement deals as well as her line of products.

Priyanka, meanwhile, has earned USD 11 million. She made her international acting debut last year with ABC's "Quantico" and now is gearing up for its second season.

2. Indian-American physician to receive National Humanities Medal



Indian-American physician-author Abraham Verghese has been selected for the prestigious 2015 National Humanities Medal.

3. US, Israel sign massive military aid deal; $38 bn over 10 years



US has signed the biggest military pact with Israel in its history. Under the treaty, Israel will buy modern weapons and military aircraft and will strengthen its missile defense systems. Under the treaty the US will provide a military aid of $38 billion to Israel in 10 years.

4. Naspers-owned PayU buys rival Citrus for $130m in all-cash deal
The Netherlands-based global online payments service provider PayU has acquired Citrus Pay in an all-cash deal, valuing the Indian startup at $130 million (around Rs 830 crore). PayU is part of South African internet and media conglomerate Naspers, which is one of the largest technology investors in the world. 

5. Reliance Communications and Aircel to be merged to create 4th largest telco



Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications and Maxis Communications Berhad (MCB), promoters of Aircel, agreed to merge their wireless businesses to form the fourth-largest telecom operator in the country.

The merger is termed as the biggest consolidation deal in India's telecom sector.
