Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico has been crowned Miss World 2016, edging out runners-up from the Dominican Republic and Indonesia, and beauties from around the globe.
Del Valle, 19, is a brown-eyed brunette student who speaks Spanish, English and French, and hopes to get into the entertainment industry.
Crowned by Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna of Spain, del Valle yesterday called it an "honor and a great responsibility" to represent her Caribbean homeland.
First runner-up was Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez of the Dominican Republic, followed by Miss World Indonesia Natasha Mannuela.
Contestants from Kenya and Catriona Gray of the Philippines also were in the final five.
India created history by winning the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup after a gap of 15 long years with a clinical 2-1 victory against Belgium in the final.
The hosts scored two beautifully crafted field goals in the first half through Gurjant Singh (8th minute) and Simranjeet Singh (22nd) while controlling the proceedings for better part of the game to emerge as deserving winners.
The team coached by Harendra Singh in association with senior team's chief coach Roelant Oltmans accomplished what the 'Class of 2001' comprising of some of the best of their times like Gagan Ajit Singh, Yugraj Singh achieved then.
Having finished a lowly 13th in the last edition of the tournament in New Delhi, it was a mission for the hosts to rewrite history and the hosts duly achieved that riding on its brilliant performance in the 11th edition of the event.
It turned out to be a historic day for India as they reclaimed the title for the second time in the history of the tournament. India had last won the tournament way back in 2001 in Hobart.
For the second year in a row, Pakistan has retained its "notorious status" of being the "third most prolific executioner" in the world, executing 419 people in two years, a rights group Amnesty International said.
According to Amnesty International, at least 1,634 people were executed in 25 countries in 2015.
Out of these, most of the executions took place in China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the USA in that order, it said.
Lieutenant general Bipin Rawat will be the new chief of Army Staff while Air Marshal B.S. Dhanoa will be the new chief of Air Staff, Ministry of Defence confirmed. “Government has decided to appoint Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, vice chief of army staff, as the next chief of army staff with effect from afternoon of December 31,” the Defence Ministry said.
India and Tajikistan signed four agreements, including one on exchange of financial intelligence, following delegation-level talks headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
