1. SBI Chairman among Fortunes 50 greatest leaders of the world

SBI chief Arundhati Bhattacharya and Indian-origin physician Raj Panjabi have been named by Fortune magazine among the world's 50 greatest leaders who are transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same.

Bhattacharya, Chairman of India's largest bank and the first-ever woman to do so, has been ranked 26th on the list while Panjabi, founder and CEO of Last Mile Health, follows closely on the 28th spot.

The list has been topped by President of Baseball Operations at Chicago Cubs Theo Epstein, followed by Alibaba Group Executive Chairman Jack Ma on the second spot, Pope Francis (3), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Cochair Melinda Gates (4) and Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos (5).

2. Four Indian cities feature in TripAdvisors top 25 Asia list

Four Indian destinations including Goa and New Delhi, have featured in the top 25 Asia list of TripAdvisors Travellers Choice awards.

"India takes the second spot in the Asia list with four winning destinations. Thailand leads with five wins. The four Indian cities that featured in the top 25 list in Asia are Goa (11), New Delhi (13), Jaipur (18) in Rajasthan and Agra (19) in Uttar Pradesh," according to the Travellers Choice Awards Asia list.

"The Travellers Choice Destinations awards this year includes a great mix of popular destinations as well as lesser known cities, which I am sure will stimulate the Indian traveller to experience fabulous places within our country," TripAdvisor India Country Manager Nikhil Ganju said.

Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period, as well as traveller booking interest on TripAdvisor.

Bali in Indonesia ranked number one in the Asia list followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia, Phuket in Thailand, Hoi An in Vietnam, Kathmandu in Nepal, Hanoi in Vietnam, Ko Samui in Thailand, Bangkok in Thailand, Lombok in Indonesia and Tokyo in Japan.

3. Tata Capital launches mobile app to offer personal loans

Financial services company Tata Capital launched a mobile app 'myLoan' to extend its personal loans offering to young and mobile savvy audience.

The app - myLoan is a social profile based personal loan mobile application.

It will make a real-time assessment of the borrower’s loan application through an algorithm, using a mix of digital, social and financial data.

"Digital data allows for a more holistic picture of a customer than financial metrics. With the launch of the app, we aim to sustain our digital presence through new and unique application that uses financial and alternate information during the borrower’s credit analysis," Tata Capitals chief operating officer (retail business and housing finance) Govind Sankaranarayanan told reporters.

4. Meghalaya to host National Games 2022

Meghalaya will be hosting the National Games 2022 coinciding with the 50th year of the creation of the state, sports and youth affairs minister Zenith M Sangma informed the assembly on Thursday.

"The allotment of National Games to be held in Meghalaya has been announced by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at its annual general meeting held on December 27, 2016," he said during the Question Hour.

He said the government would soon sign a contract with the IOA and Meghalaya State Olympics Association to host the prestigious games.

1. अरंधति भट्टाचार्य फॉर्च्यून की 50 शीर्ष नेतृत्वकर्ताओं की सूची में

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक की प्रमुख अरंधति भट्टाचार्य और भारतीय मूल के राज पंजाबी को फॉर्च्यून पत्रिका की विश्व के सबसे प्रभावशाली 50 ऐसे नेतृत्वकर्ताओं की सूची में शामिल किया गया है जिन्होंने दूसरों को प्रेरित किया है और विश्व को बदलने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा की है।

भारत के सबसे बड़े बैंक की पहली महिला प्रमुख बनने वाली अरंधति को सूची में 26वां और लास्ट माइल हेल्थ के संस्थापक एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी पंजाबी को 28वां स्थान मिला है।

इस सूची में शीर्ष पर शिकागो क्यूब्स पर बेसबॉल ऑपरेशंस के अध्यक्ष थियो एप्स्टीन हैं। उनके बाद अलीबाबा समूह के कार्यकारी चेयरमैन जैक मा दूसरे और पोप फ्रांसिस तीसरे स्थान पर हैं। बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन की सह-अध्यक्ष मेलिंडा गेट्स को सूची में चौथा और अमेजन के संस्थापक और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी जेफ बेजोस को पांचवां स्थान मिला है।

2. ट्रिप एडवाइजर की 25 शीर्ष एशियाई शहरों की सूची में चार भारत से

गोवा और नयी दिल्ली समेत चार शहरों को ट्रिप एडवाइजर की ‘ट्रैवलर्स चॉइस अवार्डस’ के शीर्ष 25 एशियाई शहरों की सूची में शामिल किया गया है।

इस सूची के अनुसार भारत का इसमें दूसरा स्थान है क्योंकि उसके चार शहरों को यह पुरस्कार मिला है जबकि पांच शहरों के साथ थाईलैंड इसमें पहले स्थान पर है। इस सूची में गोवा को 11वां, नयी दिल्ली को 13वां, जयपुर को 18वां और आगरा को 19वां स्थान मिला है।

ऑनलाइन यात्रा सलाह देने वाली और बुकिंग करने वाली कंपनी ट्रिप एडवाइजर इंडिया के कंट्री मैनेजर निखिल गंजू ने कहा कि ‘ट्रैवलर्स चॉइस अवार्डस’ में इस साल जाने-पहचाने शहरों के साथ ही कम लोकप्रिय स्थानों को भी जगह मिली है जो भारतीय यात्रियों को देश के भीतर ही अच्छा यात्रा अनुभव दिलाएंगे।

इस सूची में इंडोनेशिया के बाली को पहला, कंबोडिया के सिएम रीएप को दूसरा और थाईलैंड के फुकेट को तीसरा स्थान मिला है।

3. टाटा कैपिटल ने व्यक्तिगत ऋण के लिए मोबाइल एप शुरू किया

वित्तीय सेवा कंपनी टाटा कैपिटल ने पर्सनल लोन के लिए एक मोबाइल एप 'मायलोन' शुरू किया।

कंपनी का कहना है कि यह एप ‘मायलोन’ सोशल प्रोफाइल आधारित पर्सनल लोन मोबाइल एप है।

यह एपल डिजिटल, सोशल व वित्तीय डेटा के आधार पर आवेदक के आवेदन का आकलन करेगा।

कंपनी के मुख्य परिचालन अधिकारी गोविंद शंकरनारायणन ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि आवेदक अपनी सोशल मीडिया प्रोफाइल को इस एप में लिंक कर सकते हैं।

4. मेघालय करेगा 2022 राष्ट्रीय खेलों की मेजबानी 

मेघालय 2022 में होने वाले राष्ट्रीय खेलों की मेजबानी करेगा। राज्य के खेल एवं युवा कल्याण मंत्री जेनिथ एम संगमा ने विधानसभा में इस बात की जानकारी दी। साल 2022 में राज्य की स्थापना के 50 वर्ष भी पूरे हो रहे हैं।

विधानसभा में प्रश्नकाल के दौरान संगमा ने कहा, "भारतीय ओलम्पिक संघ (आईओए) ने 27 दिसंबर 2016 को हुई अपनी वार्षिक आम सभा में मेघालय को राष्ट्रीय खेलों की मेजबानी सौंपी थी।"

उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार जल्द ही आईओए और मेघालय राज्य ओलम्पिक संघ के साथ मिलकर इस प्रतिष्ठित खेल के आयोजन के अनुबंध पर हस्ताक्षर करेगी।

1. India ranks 87th on energy architecture performance: WEF

According to the global energy architecture performance index released by Geneva- based World Economic Forum (WEF), India has marginally improved its position to 87th place in this list. 

Switzerland has topped this list and was followed by Norway, Sweden, Denmark and France in the top five. India's rank improved three places from 90th last year.

According to the findings, the world's biggest energy consumers struggle to take leading positions on the index as they grapple with inherent challenges of their large, complex energy systems and are outperformed by more nimble economies. 

"Overall, some of the largest consumers of energy such as China (95th), India, Japan (45th), the Russian Federation (48th) and the United States (52nd) have either slipped in the rankings or experienced only marginal gains," it added. 

Bahrain is ranked the lowest at 127th. 

2. Tamang wins gold at Masters Shooting

Veteran pistol shooters Pemba Tamang of the Army and Samaresh Jung of the CISF won gold and bronze respectively in men’s 25m centre fire pistol event at the Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters Shooting competition. 

3. Journalist Govind Talwalkar passes away

Veteran Marathi journalist, writer and social historian Govind Talwalkar passed away. He was 91.

4. Ankur Mittal wins double trap gold in Acapulco Shotgun WC

Extending his good form, Ankur Mittal clinched the gold medal at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in the double trap event, pipping his Australian rival James Willet in the final in a world record equalling effort. Mittal had settled for a silver at the recent International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in New Delhi, where Willet had won the gold. 

5. Union Cabinet approves MoU with USA on partnership for Cyber Security

The Union Cabinet, presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-ln) and the US Homeland Security Department on cooperation in the field of Cyber Security.

1. भारत उर्जा ढांचा प्रदर्शन के मामले में 87वें स्थान पर: डब्ल्यूईएफ 

जिनेवा स्थित विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) द्वारा जारी वैश्विक उर्जा ढांचा प्रदर्शन सूचकांक के अनुसार, भारत की स्थिति इस सूचकांक में सुधरी है और वह 87वें स्थान पर है। स्विट्जरलैंड इस सूची में पहले स्थान पर है।

उसके बाद क्रमश: नार्वे, स्वीडन, डेनमार्क और फ्रांस का स्थान रहा। भारत 87वें स्थान पर रहा जबकि पिछले साल वह 90वें स्थान पर था।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार दुनिया की सबसे बड़ा उर्जा उपभोक्ता देश सूचकांक में अग्रणी स्थिति लेने के लिये संघर्ष कर रहा है जिसका कारण उसकी बड़ी, जटिल उर्जा प्रणाली की चुनौतियां हैं।
इसमें कहा गया है, ‘‘कुल मिलाकर उर्जा के प्रमुख खपतकर्ता देशों में चीन 95वें, जापान 45वें, रूस 48वें तथा अमेरिका 52वें स्थान पर है। इन देशों की रैंकिंग या तो घटी है या मामूली लाभ हुआ है।’’ सूची में बहरीन 127वें स्थान पर है।

2. तमांग ने मास्टर्स निशानेबाजी चैम्पियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक जीता

अनुभवी पिस्टल निशानेबाज पेम्बा तमांग (सेना) और समरेश जंग (सीआईएसएफ) ने सरदार सज्जान सिंह सेठी मेमोरियल मास्टर्स निशानेबाजी स्पर्धा में पुरूष 25 मी सेंटर फायर पिस्टल स्पर्धा में क्रमश: स्वर्ण और कांस्य पदक अपने नाम किये।

3. पत्रकार गोविंद तलवलकर का निधन 

वरिष्ठ मराठी पत्रकार, लेखक और सामाजिक इतिहासकर गोविंद तलवलकर का निधन हो गया। वह 91 वर्ष के थे।

4. अंकुर मित्तल ने अकापुल्को शाटगन विश्व कप में स्वर्ण पदक जीता 

भारतीय निशानेबाज अंकुर मित्तल ने अपनी शानदार फार्म जारी रखते हुए आईएसएसएफ शाटगन विश्व कप की डबल ट्रैप स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

मित्तल ने फाइनल में विश्व रिकार्ड की बराबरी की और अपने आस्ट्रेलियाई प्रतिद्वंद्वी जेम्स विलेट को हराकर पहला स्थान हासिल किया।

5. साइबर सुरक्षा हेतु भारत और अमेरिका के मध्य समझौते को मंजूरी

केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में भारतीय कंप्यूटर इमरजेंसी रिस्पांस टीम (सर्ट-इन) तथा यूएस होमलैंड सिक्योरिटी डिपार्टमेंट ऑन को-ऑपरेशन के मध्य साइबर सुरक्षा हेतु समझौता ज्ञापन को मंजूरी प्रदान की.

1. India ranked 131 on Human Development Index: UN

India has ranked a lowly 131 among the 188 countries surveyed for human development, a new UN report has said, bracketing the third-largest Asian economy alongside its South Asian neighbours like Pakistan, Bhutan and Nepal.

India has made no improvement in its ranking over the previous year, despite the Human Development Report for 2015 noting that foreign direct investment favours countries such as China and India.

India's Human Development Index rank in 2014 was also 131.

However, 63 per cent Indians were "satisfied" with their standard of living in 2014-15, the latest report found.

The report, released annually by the UN Development Programme, said India's rank of 131 puts it in the "medium human development" bracket, which also includes nations like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Kenya, Myanmar and Nepal.

India's HDI rank value in 2015 stood at 0.624, which had increased from 0.580 in 2010.

Its life expectancy at birth stood at 68.3 years in 2015 and the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita USD 5,663, the report said.

On the perception of feeling safe 69 per cent answered "yes", while on freedom of choice, 72 per cent female responders answered they were "satisfied" as compared to 78 per cent for male.

India's score for overall life satisfaction was 4.3 on a scale of 1-10, according to the report.

2. Hardeep Singh Puri appointed chairman of RIS

India's former Ambassador to the UN, Hardeep Singh Puri has been appointed as the chairman of a city-based autonomous think-tank that works under the Ministry of External Affairs.

Hardeep Singh Puri (65), a 1974-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is expected to take up the assignment at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) shortly.

RIS is an organisation that specialises in policy research on international economic issues and development cooperation.

3. Madhabi Puri Buch appointed as Sebi whole time member

Madhabi Puri Buch has been appointed as new whole time member of SEBI.

She is founder-director of Agora Advisory Pvt Ltd and currently at the New Development Bank in Shanghai, China.

4. PM to inaugurate India's longest road tunnel in J&K on April 2

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation, India's longest road tunnel built on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which will cut short the distance between Jammu and Srinagar by nearly 30 km.

Modi will also address a public rally after the dedication the tunnel project to the nation, he said.

The work on the 9.2 km-long twin-tube tunnel, which is part of a 286-km-long four-lane project on the highway, started on May 23, 2011 in lower Himalayan mountain range, and cost Rs 3,720 crore, officials said.

The tunnel, which is located at an elevation of 1200 meters, will be the first in India to be equipped with world class "integrated tunnel control system" through which ventilation, fire control, signals, communication and electrical systems will be automatically actuated.

भारत मानव विकास सूचकांक :एचडीआई: में दुनिया के 188 देशों की सूची में 131वें स्थान पर है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एक नई रिपोर्ट में यह कहा गया है। एशिया की तीसरी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था वाला देश भारत इस मामले में पाकिस्तान, भूटान और नेपाल जैसे दक्षिण एशियाई पड़ोसी देशों की श्रेणी में शामिल है।

वर्ष 2015 की इस मानव विकास रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत की रैकिंग पिछले साल के बराबर ही है। हालांकि, प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश के मामले में चीन और भारत जैसे देशों को ही तरजीह मिल रही है।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र की 2014 की मानव विकास सूचकांक रिपोर्ट में भी भारत 131वें पायदान पर था।

हालांकि, ताजा रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 63 प्रतिशत भारतीय 2014-15 में अपने जीवन-स्तर को लेकर ‘संतुष्ट’ बताये गये हैं।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम सालाना आधार पर रिपोर्ट जारी करता है। इसमें कहा गया है कि भारत का 131वां स्थान इसे ‘मध्यम मानव विकास’ श्रेणी में रखता है जिसमें बांग्लादेश, भूटान, पाकिस्तान, केन्या, म्यांमा और नेपाल जैसे देश शामिल हैं।

रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक इसमें जीवन प्रत्याशा 2015 में 68.3 रही तथा प्रति व्यक्ति सकल राष्ट्रीय आय 5,663 डालर रही।

सुरक्षित महसूस करने की धारणा के आधार पर 69 प्रतिशत ने ‘हां’ में जवाब दिया। विकल्प की आजादी के मामले में 72 प्रतिशत महिला प्रतिभागियों ने संतुष्टि जतायी जबकि पुरूषों के मामले में यह 78 प्रतिशत था।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत ने जीवन संतुष्टि के मामले में 1-10 के पैमाने पर 4.3 अंक प्राप्त किया।

2. आरआईएस के अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किए गए हरदीप सिंह पुरी

संयुक्त राष्ट्र में भारत के पूर्व राजदूत हरदीप सिंह पुरी को विदेश मंत्रालय के तहत काम करने वाले स्वायत्त थिंक टैंक का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है।

वर्ष 1974 बैच के भारतीय विदेश सेवा के अधिकारी हरदीप सिंह पुरी :65: जल्द ही विकासशील देशों की अनुसंधान एवं सूचना प्रणाली :आरआईएस: का अध्यक्ष पद संभालेंगे।

आरआईएस विकास सहयोग तथा अंतरराष्ट्रीय आर्थिक मुद्दों पर नीति अनुसंधान में विशेषज्ञता प्राप्त संगठन है।

3. माधवी पुरी सेबी की पूर्णकालिक सदस्य नियुक्त

माधवी पुरी बुच को भारतीय प्रतिभूति एवं विनिमय बोर्ड :सेबी: का पूर्णकालिक सदस्य नियुक्त किया गया है।

वह एगोरा एडवाइजरी प्राइवेट लि. की संस्थापक निदेशक हैं और फिलहाल चीन के शंघाई में नव विकास बैंक में है।

4. प्रधानमंत्री मोदी दो अप्रैल को जम्मू कश्मीर में भारत के सबसे लंबे सड़क सुरंग मार्ग का उद्घाटन करेंगे

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जम्मू-श्रीनगर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर बने भारत के सबसे लंबे सुरंग मार्ग को दो अप्रैल को राष्ट्र को समर्पित करेंगे। इस सुरंग मार्ग से जम्मू और श्रीनगर के बीच की दूरी करीब 30 किलोमीटर कम हो जाएगी।

उन्होंने बताया कि यह सुरंग मार्ग राष्ट्र को समर्पित करने के बाद मोदी एक जनसभा को भी संबोधित करेंगे।

अधिकारियों ने बताया कि राजमार्ग पर 286 किलोमीटर लंबी चार लेन वाली परियोजना का हिस्सा 9.2 किलोमीटर लंबी दोहरी ट्यूब सुरंग पर 23 मई2011 को काम शुरू हुआ। 3,720 करोड़ रूपये की लागत वाला यह सुरंग मार्ग निचली हिमालय पर्वत श्रृंखला में बनाया गया है।

यह सुरंग 1200 मीटर की उंचाई पर स्थित है। यह भारत का पहला ऐसा मार्ग होगा जो विश्व स्तरीय ‘समेकित सुरंग नियंत्रण प्रणाली’ से लैस होगा और जिसमें हवा के आवागमन , अग्निशमन, सिग्नल, संचार और बिजली की व्यवस्था स्वचालित तरीके से काम करेगी।
