1. SBI Chairman among Fortunes 50 greatest leaders of the world



SBI chief Arundhati Bhattacharya and Indian-origin physician Raj Panjabi have been named by Fortune magazine among the world's 50 greatest leaders who are transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same.

Bhattacharya, Chairman of India's largest bank and the first-ever woman to do so, has been ranked 26th on the list while Panjabi, founder and CEO of Last Mile Health, follows closely on the 28th spot.

The list has been topped by President of Baseball Operations at Chicago Cubs Theo Epstein, followed by Alibaba Group Executive Chairman Jack Ma on the second spot, Pope Francis (3), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Cochair Melinda Gates (4) and Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos (5).

2. Four Indian cities feature in TripAdvisors top 25 Asia list



Four Indian destinations including Goa and New Delhi, have featured in the top 25 Asia list of TripAdvisors Travellers Choice awards.

"India takes the second spot in the Asia list with four winning destinations. Thailand leads with five wins. The four Indian cities that featured in the top 25 list in Asia are Goa (11), New Delhi (13), Jaipur (18) in Rajasthan and Agra (19) in Uttar Pradesh," according to the Travellers Choice Awards Asia list.

"The Travellers Choice Destinations awards this year includes a great mix of popular destinations as well as lesser known cities, which I am sure will stimulate the Indian traveller to experience fabulous places within our country," TripAdvisor India Country Manager Nikhil Ganju said.

Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period, as well as traveller booking interest on TripAdvisor.

Bali in Indonesia ranked number one in the Asia list followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia, Phuket in Thailand, Hoi An in Vietnam, Kathmandu in Nepal, Hanoi in Vietnam, Ko Samui in Thailand, Bangkok in Thailand, Lombok in Indonesia and Tokyo in Japan.

3. Tata Capital launches mobile app to offer personal loans



Financial services company Tata Capital launched a mobile app 'myLoan' to extend its personal loans offering to young and mobile savvy audience.

The app - myLoan is a social profile based personal loan mobile application.

It will make a real-time assessment of the borrower’s loan application through an algorithm, using a mix of digital, social and financial data.

"Digital data allows for a more holistic picture of a customer than financial metrics. With the launch of the app, we aim to sustain our digital presence through new and unique application that uses financial and alternate information during the borrower’s credit analysis," Tata Capitals chief operating officer (retail business and housing finance) Govind Sankaranarayanan told reporters.

4. Meghalaya to host National Games 2022



Meghalaya will be hosting the National Games 2022 coinciding with the 50th year of the creation of the state, sports and youth affairs minister Zenith M Sangma informed the assembly on Thursday.

"The allotment of National Games to be held in Meghalaya has been announced by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at its annual general meeting held on December 27, 2016," he said during the Question Hour.

He said the government would soon sign a contract with the IOA and Meghalaya State Olympics Association to host the prestigious games.
