1. खेमानी और वीरेंद्र कुमार को कुसुमांजलि का वर्ष 2016 का साहित्य सम्मान प्रदान किया गया 

 
लेखक-नेता और मीडिया हस्ती सांसद वीरेंद्र कुमार और लेखिका कुसुम खेमानी को क्रमश: मलयालम और हिंदी साहित्य में उनके योगदान के लिए इस साल का कुसुमांजली साहित्य सम्मान प्रदान किया गया।

राज्यसभा सदस्य और मलयालम दैनिक ‘मातृभूमि’ के प्रबंध निदेशक कुमार को उनके यात्रावृतांत ‘दानुबे साक्षी’ को लेकर यह पुस्कार मिला है । वह प्रेस ट्रस्ट ऑफ इंडिया के पूर्व अध्यक्ष और इंडियन न्यूजपेपर्स सोसायटी के अध्यक्ष हैं।

यह पुरस्कार शहर के कुसुमांजलि फाउंडेशन द्वारा स्थापित किया गया था जिसके तहत देश में कलात्मक, साहित्यक और सांस्कृतिक प्रयासों को बढ़ावा एवं सहयोग देने की कोशिश की जाती है।

लेखिका कुसुम खेमानी को उनके हिंदी उपन्यास ‘लावण्य देवी’ के लिए यह पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है। खेमानी हिंदी पत्रिका ‘वागर्थ’ की संपादक हैं।

2. विप्रो इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर इस्राइल की एच आर गिवन का अधिग्रहण करेगी 

 
विप्रो इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर इंजीनियरिंग इस्राइल की एच आर गिवन का अधिग्रहण करेगी। एचआर गिवन एयरोस्पेस उद्योग को धातुओं से बने कलपुर्जे तथा असेंबली की आपूर्ति करती है।

3. एचडीएफसी ने लंदन स्टॉक एक्सचेंज में सूचीबद्ध कराया पहला ‘मसाला बांड’ जुटाए, 30 अरब रपए 

 
आवास ऋण का कारोबार करने वाले भारत के निजी क्षेत्र के सबसे बड़े वित्तीय संस्थान एचडीएफसी ने पहली बार भारत से बाहर लंदन स्टॉक एक्सचेंज में 'मसाला बांड' यानी रपए में अंकित बांड जारी कर 30 अरब रपये जुटाए।

इसे वित्तीय क्षेत्र में एक ऐतिहासिक घटना बताया गया है और इससे ब्रिटेन के साथ भारत के संबंध मजबूत होंगे। ब्रिटेन ने हाल में यूरोपीय संघ से बाहर होने का निर्णय किया है।

ब्रिटेन के वित्त मंत्री फिलिप हैमंड ने इस मसाला बांड निर्गम को ऐतिहासिक बताते हुए कहा कि यह लंदन के बाजार में ‘भरोसे’ का एक बड़ा प्रदर्शन है।

इस तरह का बांड जारी करने वाली एचडीएफसी पहली कंपनी है। इससे कंपनी ने करीब 30 अरब रपये :करीब 45 करोड़ अमेरिकी डॉलर: जुटाए हे। इस बांड की परिपक्वता अवधि तीन वर्ष और इस पर वाषिर्क ब्याज 8.33 प्रतिशत है। कंपनी के इस बांड को उसके आकार से चार गुना अधिक अभिदान मिला है।

4. टाटा हाउसिंग की 4 प्रतिशत ब्याज दर वाली नई आवास ऋण योजना 

 
टाटा कैपिटल हाउसिंग फाइसेंस लि. (टीसीएचएफएल) ने एक नई आवास ऋण योजना 'प्राप्ति' की घोषणा की। यह योजना निचली आय वर्ग वाले समूह के लिए सस्ते मकानों की योजना के तहत पेश की गई है।

कंपनी ने बयान में कहा कि सब्सिडी वाली 4 प्रतिशत की दर पर रिण उपलब्ध कराकर हम लोगों को उनके घर के सपने को पूरा करने में मदद करेंगे। टाटा कैपिटल ने कहा कि प्राप्ति सरकार की प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना की दिशा में कदम है। इस योजना के तहत सरकार का लक्ष्य 2022 तक शहरी गरीबों को सस्ता मकान उपलब्ध कराना है।

कंपनी ने कहा कि इस योजना का लाभ वे परिवार उठा सकेंगे जिनकी सालाना आय 6 लाख रपये तक मासिक है।

5. आईसीआईसीआई बैंक का एआरसी के लिये अपोलो के साथ गठजोड़ 

 
निजी क्षेत्र के देश के सबसे बड़े बैंक आईसीआईसीआई बैंक ने संपत्ति पुनर्गठन कंपनी (एआरसी) गठित करने के लिये निजी इक्विटी कंपनी अपोलो ग्लोबल मैनेजमेंट के साथ गठजोड़ किया है।

बैंक ने एक बयान में कहा कि आईसीआईसीआई बैंक तथा अपोलो ने एआरसी गठित करने के लिये सहमति पत्र (एमओयू) पर दस्तखत किये हैं। यह कंपनी बैंकों से कर्ज का अधिग्रहण करेगी और कर्जदार कंपनियों में इक्विटी भी लेगी।

6. डिजिटल इंडिया: ऑरेकल ने एसबीआई से मिलाया हाथ 

 
सॉफ्टवेयर और क्लाउड क्षेत्र की प्रमुख वैश्विक कंपनी ऑरेकल इंडिया ने सोमवार को भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (एसबीआई) के साथ कॉरपोरेट भागीदारी की घोषणा की और शिक्षा, महिला सशक्तीकरण और ग्रामीण कौशल विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 'डी-चेंज' कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की।

7. अनंत माहेश्वरी होंगे माइक्रोसॉफ्ट इंडिया के अध्यक्ष

1. Khemani, Veerendrakumar win Kusumanjalis Sahitya Samman 2016 

Writer-politician and media personality MP Veerendra Kumar and author Kusum Khemani were awarded this year's Kusumanjalis Sahitya Samman for their contribution to literature in Malayalam and Hindi, respectively.

Kumar, a Rajya Sabha member, and the Chairman and Managing Director of Malayalam daily "Mathrubhumi", won the prize for his travelogue "Danube Sakshi" in which he chronicles his experiences in Europe on the shores of the river.

The award has been instituted by city-based Kusumanjali Foundation that seeks to promote and support artistic, literary and cultural endeavours in the country.

Writer Kusum Khemani was awarded for her Hindi novel "Lavanya Devi", which the Foundation described as "one that breaks age-old barriers and invents a future-oriented woman and lays the road for engendering life values for a new progress."

2. Wipro Infrastructure to acquire Israel's H R Givon 

 
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering will acquire Israel-based H R Givon, supplier of metallic parts and assemblies to the aerospace industry.

3. HDFC issues world's first Masala or rupee bond listing in LSE 

 
HDFC, India's largest private sector mortgage lender, raised Rs 30 billion by issuing the world's first ever "Masala" or rupee-denominated bond outside India in London Stock Exchange, a landmark event that will boost economic ties between India and the UK post Brexit.

UK Chancellor Philip Hammond described the "landmark" listing by the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) as a "major vote of confidence" in London. HDFC is the first company to issue a bond of this type, which raised Rupees 30 billion, equivalent to around US $450 million. It has a maturity of three years and an annual yield of 8.33 per cent and was more than four times oversubscribed.

4. TCHFL unveils low interest home loan at 4% for weaker section 

 
Tata Capital Housing Finance Ltd (TCHFL) announced a new home loan scheme 'Prapti' targeted at low income group under the affordable housing plan.

Tata Capital Housing Finance Ltd (TCHFL) announced a new home loan scheme Prapti targeted at low income group under the affordable housing plan.

"By providing home loans at subsidised interest rates from 4 per cent, TCHFL will help individuals to realise their dream of buying their own home," the company said in a release.

Tata Capital said Prapti is a step towards governments Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana envisaging to provide affordable houses to the urban poor by 2022.

The scheme specifically caters to segments like the lower income group (LIG), economically weaker section (EWS) of society, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and women residing in the peripheries of metros, tier I, II and III cities.

The scheme is applicable for households with an income of up to Rs 6 lakh per annum, the company said.

5. ICICI Bank teams up with Apollo to set up ARC 

 
The country's largest private lender ICICI Bank has teamed up with private equity major Apollo Global Management to launch an asset reconstruction company (ARC).

ICICI and Apollo have signed a memorandum of understanding to set up the ARC, which will acquire debt from lenders and also take equity stakes in borrowers, a bank statement read.

6. Oracle India joins SBI to foster digital skills initiative 

 
Global software and Cloud major Oracle India announced a corporate citizenship collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) and launched the 'D-Change' programme which will support education and learning, women's empowerment and rural skills development in the country.

7. Anant Maheshwari to be the President at Microsoft India

 
Software major Microsoft has named Anant Maheshwari, president at Honeywell India, as its next India head.

1. एयर मार्शल ढिल्लों बने डब्ल्यूएसी के नए सीनियर एयर स्टाफ ऑफिसर 

 
एयर मार्शल एन.जे.एस. ढिल्लों ने पश्चिमी एयर कमान के वरिष्ठ एयर स्टाफ ऑफिसर के तौर पर कार्यभार संभाल लिया।

उन्होंने एयर मार्शल बी. सुरेश से कार्यभार ग्रहण किया जिन्होंने वायुसेना मुख्यालय में एयर ऑफिसर-इन-चार्ज का कार्यभार संभाला।

एक आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति के मुताबिक, इससे पहले ढिल्लों, मुख्यालय दक्षिणी एयर कमान के एयर डिफेन्स कमांडर थे। अति विशिष्ट सेवा मेडल प्राप्तकर्ता एयर मार्शल ढिल्लों राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी, डिफेन्स सर्विस स्टाफ कालेज और नेशनल डिफेन्स कालेज के स्नातक हैं।

2. अक्तूबर में कबड्डी विश्व कप की मेजबानी करेगा भारत 

 
भारत इस साल अक्तूबर में कबड्डी विश्व कप की मेजबानी करेगा जिसमें 12 देशों की टीमें हिस्सा लेंगी। भारत के अलावा अमेरिका, कनाडा, ब्रिटेन, आस्ट्रेलिया, ईरान, पोलैंड, पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश, कोरिया, जापान और कीनिया की टीमें इस टूर्नामेंट में भाग लेंगी जिसकी तिथियों की घोषणा बाद में की जाएगी।

कबड्डी 1990 से एशियाई खेलों का हिस्सा है और भारत ने तब से इस खेल में सभी स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं। स्टार स्पोर्ट्स कबड्डी विश्व कप का आधिकारिक प्रसारक होगा।

3. रानी नायर बनेंगी सीबीडीटी की नई अध्यक्ष 

 
सीबीडीटी के अध्यक्ष अतुलेश जिंदल के सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद वरिष्ठ आईआरएस अधिकारी रानी सिंह नायर उनका स्थान ग्रहण करेंगी।

भारतीय राजस्व सेवा की आयकर कैडर की 1979 बैच की अधिकारी नायर वर्तमान में केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड :सीबीडीटी: में सदस्य :विधायी एवं कम्प्यूटरीकरण: हैं जो आयकर विभाग का नीति निर्माता निकाय है।

अधिकारियों ने कहा कि सरकार ने आदेश जारी किया है कि वह जिंदल से सीबीडीटी के ‘‘कार्यवाहक’’ प्रमुख के तौर पर पदभार ग्रहण करें और प्रधानमंत्री की अध्यक्षता वाली कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति जल्द ही उनके पूर्ण प्रभार संभालने के लिए नए आदेश जारी कर सकती है।

जिंदल इसी वर्ष फरवरी में सीबीडीटी के प्रमुख बने थे।

4. युरिको कोइके टोक्यो की पहली महिला गवर्नर होंगी 

 
जापान की पूर्व रक्षामंत्री यूरिको कोइके टोक्यो की पहली महिला गवर्नर होंगी।

जापानी मीडिया ने कहा है कि वह चुनाव में जीत हासिल करेंगी, और उसके बाद उनकी प्रमुख चुनौतियां 2020 के ओलंपिक खेलों की मेजबानी की तैयारी में टोक्यो के सामने आ रही आर्थिक समस्याओं से निपटना होगा।

खेलों से संबंधित स्कैंडल के कारण पिछले दो गवर्नरों को इस्तीफा देना पड़ा है।

कुल मिलाकर 21 दावेदार इस विशाल शहर और अन्य शहरों का नेतृत्व करने की जोर आजमाइश कर रहे हैं और कोइके के साथ ही राजनीतिज्ञ हिरोया मासुदा और पत्रकार शुनतारो तोरिगो लड़ाई में आगे हैं।

मासुजो ने घोटालामुक्त प्रशासन का वादा कर चुनाव जीता था, और उन्होंने कानून तोड़ने की बात से इंकार किया, लेकिन उन्होंने अपने खर्च में नैतिकता की कमी की बात स्वीकार की।

उनके पूर्ववर्ती नाओकी इनोसे ने भी 2013 में आर्थिक घोटाले के कारण इस्तीफा दे दिया था, इसके ठीक पहले टोक्यो को ओलंपिक की मेजबानी का अधिकार मिला था।

उसके बाद से 2020 के गर्मी के ओलंपिक को लेकर टोक्यो की तैयारी को घोटालों, अधिक खर्च, प्रशासनिक गड़बड़ी और निर्माण कार्यो में विलंब का सामना करना पड़ा है।

नए गवर्नर का पहला कर्तव्य 2016 के अंत में अगस्त में होने वाले रियो ओलंपिक में जाना और अगले मेजबान के रूप में ओलंपिक का झंडा स्वीकार करना होगा।

5. ग्लोरिया डेहैवन का 91 साल में निधन 

 
1940 के दशक में एमजीएम म्यूजिकल की स्टार गायिका अभिनेत्री ग्लोरिया डेहैवन का निधन हो गया है। वह 91 साल की थीं।

9. अगरतला-नयी दिल्ली ‘त्रिपुरा सुंदरी एक्सप्रेस’ को सुरेश प्रभु ने दिखाई हरी झंडी 

 
त्रिपुरा देश के ब्रॉड-गेज रेल मानचित्र पर आ गया. रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु ने अगरतला-नयी दिल्ली ‘त्रिपुरा सुंदरी एक्सप्रेस’ को हरी झंडी दिखाकर इसका उद्घाटन किया. वहीं, अगरतला से लेकर बांग्लादेश में अखौरा को रेल संपर्क से जोड़ने की बहुप्रतीक्षित योजना की आधारशिला एक कार्यक्रम में प्रभु और उनके बांग्लादेशी समकक्ष मोहम्मद मुजीबुल हक ने संयुक्त रूप से रखी.

‘त्रिपुरा सुंदरी एक्सप्रेस’ रविवार को सप्ताह में एक दिन चलेगी और गुवाहाटी-न्यू जलपाईगुड़ी होकर 47 घंटे बाद नयी दिल्ली पहुंचेगी. अगरतला-दिल्ली रेल संपर्क पर 968 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए गए हैं.

सभा को संबोधित करते हुए प्रभु ने कहा कि अगरतला और कोलकाता के बीच नियमित ट्रेन अगले माह शुरू की जाएगी. उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘कोलकाता देश की सांस्कृतिक राजधानी है और त्रिपुरा का उसके साथ लंबा ऐतिहासिक संबंध है.’’ अगरतला-अखौरा रेल संपर्क पर प्रभु ने कहा कि यह ट्रांस-एशियाई रेल संपर्क का हिस्सा होगा.

उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘हम बांग्लादेश के साथ संपर्क के प्रति वचनबद्ध हैं. भारत और बांग्लादेश के बीच संबंध बेहद सौहार्दपूर्ण है और उनका (बांग्लादेश) रवैया हमारी पहल में सहयोगात्मक है.’’ यहां से रेलवे लाइन को त्रिपुरा में दक्षिणतम शहर सबरूम तक बढ़ाया जाएगा. सबरूम बांग्लादेश में चटगांव बंदरगाह से सिर्फ 75 किलोमीटर दूर है.

1. Air Marshal Dhillion new Senior Air Staff Officer of WAC 

 
Air Marshal N J S Dhillon took charge as the Senior Air Staff Officer of Western Air Command.

He took over from Air Marshal B Suresh, who assumes charge of Air Officer-in-Charge, Personnel, at Air Headquarters, an official release said.

Prior to his appointment, Dhillion was Air Defence Commander of HQ Southern Air Command, it said.

Air Marshal Dhillon, a recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), is a graduate of National Defence Academy, Defence Service Staff College, and National Defence College.

2. India to host Kabaddi World Cup in October 

India will host the Kabaddi World Cup this year, featuring 12 countries, in October. Besides India, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Iran, Poland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Korea, Japan and Kenya will be playing in this event.

Kabaddi became a part of Asian Games in the year 1990 and India have won all the gold medals since.

Star Sports will be the official broadcaster of the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.

3. Rani Nair set to be new CBDT Chairperson 

 
Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Rani Singh Nair is set to be appointed the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairperson, with incumbent Atulesh Jindal retiring on Sunday.

Nair, a 1979-batch IRS officer, is presently working as member (legislation and computerisation) in CBDT, policy making body of the Income-Tax department. Officials said the government has issued orders for her to take over as acting chief from Jindal and fresh orders by the Prime Minister-headed Appointments Committee of the Cabinet are expected soon, for her to take charge in a full capacity.

Jindal took over as CBDT chief in February this year.

Once appointed, Nair will be in office till October 31 during which she will be looking to achieve maximum success under the ambitious one-time domestic black money disclosure scheme being run by the government also called the Income Declaration Scheme (IDS).

Nair has been instrumental in framing the procedures and protocols that led to the roll out of the IDS on June 1 this year that aims to fish out black funds from the domestic arena.

CBDT has six members apart from the Chairperson and is responsible for framing policy and administrative issues related to direct taxes and the Income Tax department.

4. Tokyo elects Yuriko Koike as first female governor 

 
Former Defence Minister Yuriko Koike will be the first women governor of Tokyo.

Ms Koike, running as an independent candidate, received more than 2.9 million votes in Sunday's election, beating her opponents by a wide margin.

One of her key challenges will be curbing the financial problems plaguing Tokyo's preparations to host the 2020 Olympic Games.

Both her predecessors resigned over funding scandals.

Ms Koike is a member of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), but it did not endorse her so she ran as an independent.

9. Suresh Prabhu flags off ‘Tripura Sundari Express’; link to Bangladesh laid 

 
Tripura entered the broad gauge railway map of the country on Sunday with Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagging off the Agartala-New Delhi ‘Tripura Sundari Express’. The foundation stone for the much awaited railway track to link Agartala to Akhoura in Bangladesh was jointly laid at the programme by Prabhu and his Bangladeshi counterpart Md Mujibul Haque.’Tripura Sundari Express’ will run once a week on Sundays and will reach New Delhi in 47 hours after travelling via Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri. Rs 968 crore was spent for Agartala-Delhi rail link.

Addressing the gathering, Prabhu said a regular train service between Agartala and Kolkata would be started next month. “Kolkata is the cultural capital of the country and Tripura has a long historic connection with it,” he said. On the Agartala-Akhoura railway link, Prabhu said it would be part of trans-Asian rail connectivity.

“We are committed to bring connectivity with Bangladesh. The relation between India and Bangladesh is very cordial and they (Bangladesh) are cooperative in our initiative,” he said. The rail track here would be extended to Sabroom, the southern-most town in Tripura, which is only 75 km from Chittagong port in Bangladesh.

“Chittagong port is the best port in Asia. We want to connect Indian Railways track with Chittagong port through Sabroom,” Prabhu said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, is very keen to make northeast region a tourist hub. “We want to develop railway network in the entire northeast and want to make it a tourist hub. We want to bring Bangladesh into the same tourist circuit,” Prabhu said.
